Hi everyone, Mark here from Web Zulu.
Now I'm going to let you in on a little secret today... come a bit closer...closer...
There's...something...going...on... in...the...world!
Yes that's right you heard it here first. Now I'm not even gonna mention that word because we all know what it is, but I am here today to talk to you about a C word, and that word is CREATIVITY and we're going to use that in the context of "Creative Solutions."
We all know there's going to be a lot of changes coming in the weeks and months ahead of us,
and I'm going to talk to you about some of the creative ways that you can educate your market about
what's happening with your business and how you can counteract or soften some of those blows.
There'll be a series of these videos, this one being the first, but first of all I want to show you something, which is a message that Google is putting out this week, and to do that I'm just going to share my screen with you so you can all see that happening.
So let's start off with Google My Business listings. You'll see when you search a business, it'll come up here in the right hand side and it displays your hours.
Google is saying at the moment that hey, if you've got a change of circumstances or hours bring it in here
because we need to notify your customers, and this is probably the first place they're actually going to see
your opening hours.
To manage that, you go to Google My Business and you bring up your listing, and click on your details in info
and it'll show your hours. Click on the icon here and simply change them to reflect.
So it's a good idea to keep that updated as much as possible.
There's also another way if people come directly to your website that you can also make an announcement of anything that may be happening within your business,
disruptions, staff shortages, changes of procedures everything like that, and there's different ways
to go about that but here's one of the easiest ones.
If you have a look on mine, I did one here today, to show you. This is called a notification bar. Now this is a feature within our website, so if you're a Web Zulu customer then you will have access to this within your portal anyway, but there are other ways to add it onto your own site if you work off a different platform.
Essentially what happens is that when people visit the site there's a little notification bar which pops up
from the top and/or bottom and you can make a notification. I'm displaying a simple message here
here, but if there was a change to my business hours, or for some reason I was ill and couldn't manage the business, or there was going to be a slower response time, you can put a message in here so all your customers are notified of any changes.
So there's just two quick things that you can do today to keep the customers informed about any impact on your business in the coming weeks and months, and we look forward to bring you some other helpful
tips and tricks across the coming days .
